Our second ‘Classics At The Manor’ organised by our sister company Drive Classic Club was bigger and better. Yet again we have partnered with the amazing St Michaels Manor Hotel to host our automotive garden party at their wonderful lawns. It’s probably a good time to say that the venue will remain the home of ‘Classics At The Manor’ events for the years to come.
On the 19th of May around 50 carefully selected, spectacular classic and sport cars shone for our guests and visitors. In what is only our second edition we have managed to almost double the size of the event and we have a strong appetite for making it even better next time.
Once again the weather was on our side and so we could enjoy the indoor and outdoor bars and food including the fresh stone-baked pizza as well as the availability of the fabolous ‘Lake Restaurant’. All thanks to the fantastic team at St Michaels Manor Hotel.
Our events are only possible thanks to the amazing network of individuals, collectors and businesses we work closely with and their kind gesture of bringing their beutiful machinery to the lawns of St Michaels Hotel.
Sunny weather and a truly amazing group of people made the day rather enjoyable. Cars within our main display included the likes of Maserati Bora, Aston Martin DB6 Volante, De Tomaso Pantera, Mercedes 300SL, Pagoda, prototype 3.5V8 280SE, many significant Mini’s, as well as some fabolous Ferrari’s, Alfa Romeo’s, custom 1930’s Willys , Morgan Plus4, our legendary Defenders, Mustang GT500 and some vintage bikes and some modern sport and supercars. A bit of everything for everyone. The list of some of our exhibiting guests can be found here.
Naturally the day wouldn’t go by without sellecting our ‘Best of Show’ car which uniquely was judged by the owners of the cars themselves rather than a specific panel of judges. We ran a short survey and the results were as follows:
- Winner – ‘Howard Wise Cars‘ with his spectacular green on green Mercedes 300SL
- 2nd place – James and his rather rare to ever see black Ferrari Testarossa
- 3rd place – and our favourite was the self built Land Rover Series III by Camilla and James
Congratulations all!
From all of us at Drive Classics Club a warm thank you and we look forward to having you all at our next event or rally.
Our future events will continue as a ’boutique style’ series of events and we will bring you more ‘meetings’ as well as ‘rallies’. Stay tuned!
Special thanks to Richard and his team at the St Michaels Manor Hotel for being the perfect host.
