Classics At The Manor III. The best one yet!

‘Classics At The Manor III’ at the beautiful St Michaels Manor Hotel was spectacular! Despite the frighteningly wet weather forecast we had 95% turnout rate of our guests, their amazing cars and all the visitors on the day. To our surprise most of the day was actually extremely warm and sunny.

This time around we have assembled over 40 carefully selected, amazing classic cars with addition of a some of the latest super and sport cars. With the company of like-minded people, spectacular cars and live music we have enjoyed a wonderful garden party to celebrate the end of classic car season.

Our third edition of Classics At The Manor was proudly supported by our friends at Moss Automotive and Rare Car Finance – thank you for your support. Naturally the event wouldn’t have been what it is without the amazing network of individuals, collectors and businesses which we work closely with. We would like to thank you all for joining us and bringing your beautiful machinery to the lawns of St Michaels Manor Hotel.

Cars within our display included the mix of classic and iconic sport & super cars, race cars as well as fully usable classic daily drivers. We had the pleasure to enjoy the likes of Ferrari 330, Aston Martin DB4, Mercedes Pagoda, Lamborghini Espada, Citroen SM, a selection of rare Porsches as well as many other classics including Morgan Plus6, Series 2/3 Land Rovers, tiny yet significant Fiat 500s and Mini Coopers, Alfa Romeos and many more. It also became a tradition to include at least one full-on race car and this time it was the monstrous Zakspeed Ford Escort Mk2 Race Car presented by Olly of Melliard Motorsport. The list of some of our exhibiting guests can be found here.

Naturally the day consisted of our ‘Best of Show’ awards ceremony which as per usual was judged by the owners of the cars themselves rather than a specific panel of judges (owners weren’t allowed to vote on their own cars).
Unusually, this time we had six rather than three ‘Best Of Show’ cars due to the unexpected equal number of votes given to four cars going for second place in our competition.

The winners:

  1. WinnerAston Martin DB4 presented by Bell Sport Classic
  2. Second Best – equally voted cars:
Ferrari Dino ‘Arms & Chairs’ presented by Bell Sport Classic
Lamborghini Espada presented by Jonny Ambrose
Porsche 993 RS in green presented by brothers Haythem, Nawaf and Omar
Porsche 911 RSR 1973 presented by brothers Haythem, Nawaf and Omar
Quick note: there was another vote for a Ferrari 330 – 2nd best yet un-awarded car due to accidental entry of our official event partners car Moss Automotive. Michale of Moss Automotive decided to pass the award onto the next best car resulting in the above outcome of four cars.
  3. Third BestFiat 500 ‘595 Abarth’ evocation by Miki at Red Brick Classics

Congratulations all!

From all of us at Drive Classics Club a big thank you and we look forward to having you all at our next event or an upcoming autumn/winter rally.

Our future events will continue as a ’boutique style’ series of events and we will bring you more ‘meetings’ as well as ‘rallies’. Stay tuned!

Special thanks to Richard and his team at the St Michaels Manor Hotel for being the perfect host.
